‘NEW HOME‘
Falling Star Magazine is looking for a few stories for our upcoming themed issue ‘New Home.’
We’re looking for short stories between 2,000 – 5,000 words on the theme of having to move forward to, heading toward and eventually finding a new home. This can take a lot of forms, and we’re willing to read them all. One important thing though:
WE DO NOT PUBLISH FIRST PERSON NARRATIVES. Please, nothing in the ‘I-Me-My’ vein. Character-driven narratives engage readers. Stories of families moving cross-country, a sudden loss of a long-time residence under weird circumstances, send all that. Just please, at the very least, think like Phillip Roth and have a thinly disguised version of yourself as the protagonist.
FICTION. Between 2k-5,000 words. Double-spaced.
FORMATTING: All manuscripts should be sent as a standard Word or DocX (no PDFs at this time). Please include your contact info (name, address, phone and email) on the top left corner. Also, send a little bio at the end.
PAYMENT: Fiction pays $20. All payments via Paypal. We’ve been known to nominate for the Pushcart.
